Rock Out with Just Teachers at The Speakeasy in Rockland This Saturday Night

I’m sorry to leave you all hanging. I’ve had a wicked busy week. But better late than never, eh? So here it is — My top picks for what to do in the midcoast this weekend if you’re looking for some fun and some live music!

Friday, May 9 2014

1. Roundtop Coffee House & Open Mic

Greg Klein and The Right of Way will be performing at Round Top Farm in Damariscotta as part of the Damariscotta River Association’s (DRA) Round Top Coffee House series. Klein’s band will have a rock/pop/folk/roots music vibe with a focus on moving lyrics that tell a story.

The Round Top Coffee House open mic invites musicians, singers, poets and other performers to take the stage. Sign up starts at 6:15 p.m. The open mic is 6:45 to 8:15 then a 15-minute break before the feature act from 8:30 to 9:30.

Rising Tide Community Market privides refreshments for the show. Admission is $8 or bring home-baked goods for free admission – gotta love Maine. Event is at DRA’s Round Top Farm, 3 Round Top Lane in Damariscotta. Really great Venue.

This is when The Mallett Brothers Band played there, but it will give you an idea of the space if you’ve never been.

2. Dancing With the Local Stars is Friday May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Camden Opera House. It’s going to be an incredible show and it’s for a great cause, the Wayfinder School! Tickets sell out every year, so I hope you got yours early!

3. Rock Harbor hosts Nukelele, 8-11 p.m. I’m a fan. These guys do Funk/Rock with a bit of Reggae. Trust me. It’s good.

1. Just Teachers are playing at The Speakeasy in Rockland 8-11 p.m. Be sure to check what the Saturday drink special is! There’s a $5 cover. And there are also these fabulous educators treatin’ us to some rockin’ tunes! They play fun covers you can dance to and I hear they’ve got some brand new mash-ups to play for us! See ya on the dance floor!

2.  The 220s are playing live music at The Myrtle St. Tavern. $3 cover, 21+. Get yourself down to the Myrt for some progressive rock cover songs, guy!

About Jessabelle Lemonade

Jessabelle Lemonade is a twenty-something who enjoys live music. She realized that there wasn't a place to check what nightlife events, live music, etc., would be happening around the Midcoast and she thought someone ought to do something about that. So she did.
